Lite-Brite theory of existence

I've been pondering what I call the Lite-Brite theory of existence. Many of us are familiar with the children's toy called Lite-Brite. It's a pegboard, lighted from behind, on which one places black paper designs printed with a grid of numbers. Each number represents the color of a plastic peg – e.g. 1 = red, 2=blue, and so on. When you finish inserting all the colored plastic pegs, completing the design, and turn on the light, the picture becomes clear.

My Lite-Brite theory is that each of us is one of those colored plastic pegs. We're plugged into a large design and all connected by the ONE universal light. We're all part of each other and everything else. We look around and all we can easily see is other individual pegs of different colors. We're not able to step back, or fly above, to see the larger design – but we can imagine and believe that there is one.

Non judgment day is near

I'm not a bumper sticker person, but I found one in Santa Fe last spring that I put on my car. It reads 'Non judgment day is near.' At first I though this was funny, a gentle stab at people who 'don't get it.' Now I realize that it's actually a lesson for me that I need to be conscious of every day.

In the beginning...

I've arrived at a point in my existence where I think a lot and I feel somehow compelled to share my thinking with others. There's arrogance to this notion, I know, that anyone else would even care to read about my thoughts, but I'm going ahead anyway. After all, the blogosphere is a place of searching and making choices. We search around, sometimes randomly and other times with a purpose. Then we make choices about what we'll pay attention to.

So here goes. If any of what I write may resonate with or provoke you, I'll look forward to hearing your thoughts.
